The German national team were eliminated in the same stage of Czech Open as the Slovaks. Unlike team Slovakia, however, they didn't win a single point in the tournament. But still, their team manager Moritz Moersch could find some positives in his team's participation in the event. “Encounters with strong teams, such as at Czech Open and other events, can help us get better,” he emphasized the significance of the German team's participation at the tournament in August.

Women's national teams of Germany and Slovakia included Czech Open, which took place in August, into their preparation for this year's World Championship. Although neither of the national teams achieved any significant success in the women's elite category, they at least had a chance to face top floorball teams, which may prove to be valuable experience in the future.

In the group stage, Slovakia encountered Pixbo, Liberec and Bohemians Prague. They only managed to beat Liberec and lost the other two games. Nevertheless, their victory against Liberec may be a good boost for the Slovaks. Martina Stašová scored a hat-trick in this game.

Slovenka velkaDespite Slovakia were then eliminated in the first round of the losers bracket, they definitely don't need to regret their participation in the world's biggest floorball tournament. The team captain Lucia Košturiaková indicated that further schedule of her team's preparation is not yet really set. “We've yet to see. We may play at the Polish Cup, but this depends on the financial situation,” she explained during Czech Open.

Košturiaková also added that there won't be many changes in the team that played in Prague before the World Championship. “I don't expect any significant changes in the squad. Unfortunately, we don't have many players to choose from plus there are quite a few players refusing to play in the national team,” captain of Team Slovakia complained.

At the Championship, Slovakia will play in group C, i.e. in one of the two lower-level groups. They will face players from Korea, Hungary and Australia. Therefore, Košturiaková and her team have set a clear goal. “We want to win the group and then at least one game. Anything above that will be a great success,” she concluded.
