WFC 2013

07 December 2013

The Russian women's national team are a clear proof of the fact that two years are a really long period and many things can change. While at the previous World Championships in St. Gallen the relentless Russians had only fourteen players and one goalie in their squad, after significant changes in the management of the Russian Floorball Federation the situation started to turn. The new national team coach Anatoly Bykov brings twenty players to the Czech Republic and the core of the team is formed by the players of Nauka-Trevelstroy, winners of the Women's EuroFloorball Cup.

Team-RUSSIA

There is a difficult task ahead of the Russian national team. At the ninth World Championships in Brno and Ostrava they were drawn into group A along with Poland, Finland, and Sweden.

Anatoly Bykov, who is also the captain of the men's national team, has twelve players of the Russian champion Nauka-Trevelstroy in his squad. Bykov is also Nauka's head coach and with the national team he practices a very similar style of play, which has proved to be successful at the international scene. Another numerous group of players comes from Olimp Fryazino, the second team of the Russian Championship. As opposed to the limited squad they had in St. Gallen, Switzerland, this time they come with twenty players, including two goalies.
