WFC 2013

Vojtěch Dyk, famous mostly for his activities in the popular music band Nightwork, became the patron of the Women's World Floorball Championships which will take place in the Czech Republic in December. This twenty-eight years old singer and actor in the National theatre has taken the patronage over from Ivan Trojan who played the same role during the men's WFC five years ago.

Vojtěch Dyk has been interested in sports since his childhood and played floorball also on the competitions level. Unfortunately, he inherited more culture-oriented than sports-oriented genes after his parents and decided for a career of a musician and actor. “I had been playing floorball since I was nine years old, at that time it wasn´t even as popular. I also joined an official practice of the Tatran Střešovice club once, but as I sang in the changing room and the boys laughed at me for that, I quit floorball and continued singing instead,” he outlined the causes of the end of his floorball career.

He is looking forward to his role during the Women's Floorball Championships, to the beauty of Czech floorball most importantly: “The main purpose of my presence will be, at least I thing, to make sure the team to hold together. I am prepared to have some speeches before the matches in the girls' changing rooms as well as other teams, to whom I will do harm so that I help our team to victory,“ he commented laughingly his role at the WFC its patron Vojtěch Dyk.
